Sound art game

Centripetal & Centrifugal is a participatory sound art game inspired by Marko Ciciliani's analytical framework for electronic music performance practices. Rather than using the model solely as a tool for analysis, the work transforms it into a performative system in which participants continuously shift between the roles of performer, listener, and evaluator, transforming analysis into a form of artistic production.

The game is structured through three sets of cards: title cards, parameter cards, and evaluation cards. During each round, one participant creates a short sound performance by following a hidden set of performance parameters derived from Ciciliani's centripetal and centrifugal model, while the remaining participants evaluate the performance using the same framework. The comparison between intention and perception reveals performance as a negotiated process shaped collectively rather than individually.

By translating a theoretical model into a playable artwork, Centripetal & Centrifugal questions conventional distinctions between artist and audience, creation and interpretation, and score and performance. Instead of treating analysis as something that follows artistic production, the work proposes it as an active, embodied practice through which performance, listening, and knowledge are produced together.
